Hands of Love: Baba a Dido
The hands of my grandparents in Slovakia.
Hands shaped by hardwork, sweat, pain, resilience, discipline, trust, faith, hope, growth and, above all, love.
I can’t stress enough about the concept of time. We only get this one life, and what matters most is how we choose to spend it. This collection captures the quiet moments, the ordinary things we rarely think twice about. Everyday life, exactly as it is.
For me, it’s always been about the principle of things. Going out of your way, showing up for the people you love without expecting anything in return. My grandparents have always put others before themselves, doing everything with their own hands. They remind me that there’s dignity in honest work. Get your hands dirty. Build something. Care for someone. Your hands tell your story.
Every time they caught me taking a photo, they’d smile, thinking it was sweet or a little silly, never realizing how deeply they’ve shaped the person I’ve become. They probably don’t know that these moments, the simplest ones, are the one I’ll carry with me forever. Life isn’t as complicated as we often make it. It’s the small things that stay with us.
I’m incredibly lucky and grateful to have them in my life.
High-five your friend. Cook a meal for your neighbor. Wave to a stranger. Hold your mom’s hand a little tighter, and a little longer.
